Police Lights (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)ELMWOOD—(KFOR Mar. 31)—A former Nebraska football player was killed in a head-on collision Sunday afternoon near Elmwood in central Cass County.  Investigators say 53-year-old David Noonan of LaVista died upon impact in the crash between his westbound car and a semi-truck on Highway 34 about a mile east of State Highway 1, where Noonan’s vehicle swerved into the eastbound lane.  The driver of the semi truck was taken to a Lincoln hospital with minor injuries.  Noonan was a 1989 Lincoln Northeast High School graduate and played football at Nebraska from 1989 to 1993.  He was the younger brother of Husker football great and NFL veteran Danny Noonan.  Services for David Noonan are Thursday morning in Omaha. ...read more read less
