1 arrested after police chase near Indianapolis International Airport

INDIANAPOLIS — A police chase spurred a large law enforcement presence near Indianapolis International Airport on Monday night.
Witnesses reported seeing multiple police cars and officers near Kentucky Avenue and I-465 on the city’s southwest side, along with fire trucks and EMS personnel.
The incident led to some traffic backups in the area.
Footage shot near Kentucky Avenue and West Hanna Avenue showed multiple police cars and officers at the scene. Video also showed a car being loaded onto a truck.
Officers at the scene told a FOX59/CBS4 photographer that the incident involved a police pursuit. A public police report released Tuesday afternoon indicates a "suspect did not stop in his vehicle when he was told to stop."
The same report also shows that 52-year-old Craig Lane Jones was arrested after the incident. Jones has been preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, pointing a loaded firearm, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle and criminal mischief.
Three of the charges Jones faces are Level 6 Felonies. Criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon is a Class B Misdemeanor.
The maximum penalty for a Level 6 Felony in Indiana is a 2.5-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000. ...read more read less
