(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — On Tuesday, April 1, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO) conducted a search along Fountain Creek for an elderly woman who had been missing since October 17, 2024, and found skeletal remains that are believed to be hers. RELATED STORY: El Paso County deputie s searching for missing woman According to EPSO, the Mounted Unit, Detectives, and El Paso County Search and Rescue coordinated to search for 76-year-old Bernice Moorehead in the area of Pinello ranch in unincorporated El Paso County after items were found nearby that were believed to be her personal belongings. Courtesy: El Paso County Sheriff's Office During the search, law enforcement found skeletal remains along the creek, just north of Pinello Ranch. Based on additional evidence found at the scene, the remains are believed to be Moorehead's, though the El Paso County Coroner's Office will officially identify them and determine the cause and manner of death.
