The reconfigured children's area has a dedicated entrance, a new mural, and an enclosed space with walls and lowered shelving for better line-of-sight and easier access to more materials.
"Now this space is brighter, it's more colorful," said Denise Abbott, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. "We added really bright colored paints here. We have a brand new mural that's on the wall as you enter the library. Also, we lowered the shelves, and I've heard children already say 'Oh my god, I can reach the books now!' because the shelves have come down."
In addition, a newly configured computer lab on the lower level has desk carrels that provide more privacy and seating space as well as charging stations, so the patrons can use the 26 computers and 30 new Chromebooks that are available for checkout from a kiosk. ...read more read less
