Balsam chose to receive his prize as a one-time cash payment of $650,000 before taxes. With his winnings, he said he plans to buy a house and a red pickup truck he has dreamed of owning since he was a teenager, and save the rest.
Balsam purchased the grand prize ticket at Irving, located at 11 Tapley Street in Springfield. For selling the winning ticket, the store will receive a $10,000 bonus.
