Health alert issued in Bernalillo County on Tuesday for blowing dust

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — A health alert has been issued Tuesday morning in Bernalillo County due to blowing dust, according to the City of Albuquerque. The city says anyone with respiratory conditions should limit outdoor activity.
Windy weather with some rain/snow ahead for New Mexico
The health alert began at 11:25 a.m. and expires at 9 p.m. today. Along with the health alert, a shut-down notice was issued for contractors and businesses generating dust. That took effect immediately at 11:15 a.m., and will expire alongside the health alert at 9 p.m. tonight.
The city offered these tips on what to do during a health alert:
"Limit your time spent outdoors and avoid outdoor exercise
Schools and senior citizen facilities may want to provide indoor activities to minimize exposure to elevated outdoor particulate levels
Keep windows and doors closed - if needed for comfort, use air conditioners or heating systems on recycle/recirculation mode
If symptoms of heart or lung disease occur, (including shortness of breath, chest tightness, chest pain, palpitations or unusual fatigue) contact your health care provider
Individuals with heart or lung disease should follow their health management plan from their health care provider
Asthmatic individuals should follow a prescribed asthma management plan"
