U.S Ski Team: Parkite freeskiers Mac Forehand, Troy Podmilsak and Alex Hall posted strong results in the freeski World Championships big air event Saturday in Engadin, Switzerland. on the event with a score of 192. The Championships event concludes the freeski World Cup season. Parkite aerialist Kaila Kuhn won Sunday’s freestyle World Championships aerials event in Engadin, Switzerland. Kuhn scored 105.13, nearly six points ahead of China’s Mengtao Xu in second place. It’s Kuhn’s first individual championships title in three tries. Fellow Parkite Quinn Dehlinger finished second on the men’s side. Kuhn and Dehlinger combined for the team gold with another Parkite Chris Lillis Thursday. Miners: The Miners boys lacrosse squad fell 18-6 Saturday to Cherry Creek of Colorado. Park City entered halftime down 15-1, then rallying in the second half with five goals. The Miners will take on Brighton, who defeated them in last year’s state title game, Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Dozier Field.The Miners girls lacrosse squad fell 19-9 Friday to Foothill of California. Sophia Mondschein led Park City with four goals. The loss is the Miners first of the season, now 6-1. Park City will take on Brighton Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on the road.The Miners baseball squad defeated Juan Diego Catholic 6-1 Friday. Park City trailed entering the fifth inning, slugging two runs then and another four in the sixth. Justin Michaelis and Royal Matthews led the Miners with two RBIs each. Park City is scheduled to begin their series with Tooele Tuesday on the road at 3:30 p.m. The Miners will see Tooele again Wednesday and Thursday. The Miners boys soccer squad fell 2-1 in double overtime Friday to Layton Christian Academy. Each team scored in the first half, with Layton Christian tacking on the game winner in the second overtime period. Park City is 2-4, scheduled to take on Jordan Tuesday on the road at 3:30 p.m. The Miners will also face Hillcrest Thursday on the road.The Miners track team competed in the Alpha invite over the weekend at Timpanogos. Eli Warner finished second in the 100m with a time of 10.89 seconds. Sierra Darling and Estella Salyers-Both set a new Park City record with times of 12.38 seconds in the girls 100m. Abby Hanton finished second in the long jump. Several other Miners posted top-10 results at the meet.The Miners boys volleyball squad took down Stansbury Friday three sets to one. Park City dropped the first set, rallying to win the next three. The Miners are 6-6, set to face Cottonwood Tuesday on the road at 6:30 p.m.The Miners softball squad fell 11-1 Monday to Skyline. Park City gave up six runs in the second inning and four in the fourth.
