Apr 01, 2025
Cameron Edward Nielsen, 21, of Heber City is facing felony charges after admitting to sexually abusing “his friend’s little sister” when he was 16 and she was 9, according to an affidavit of probable cause. Alleged offenses are first and second degree felonies including two charges of sodomy
on a child and two charges of sexual abuse of a child. Nielsen was enrolled in Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) in Sanpete County and, during a background investigation, admitted to sexually abusing the then 9-year-old girl. The incident, however, occurred in Heber City. Detective Breezy Anderson of the Sanpete Major Crimes Taskforce referred the case to Heber. The affidavit of probable cause details that, when Nielsen was interviewed by Anderson, he admitted to two incidents of sexual abuse. The first occurred at the girl’s house. The second at Nielsen’s. “He stated that afterwards [after the incidents], he told her that they should not be doing these things and she said OK,” the statement of probable cause reads. When she was interviewed, the victim of abuse by Nielsen said that it “happened a lot of times, mostly at his house.” Nielsen will appear in a virtual hearing with Heber District Court on April 24 at 8:30 in the morning. The post Heber City man facing felonies after admitting sexual abuse of a child appeared first on Park Record. ...read more read less
