RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- For National Library Week in early April, the Richmond Public Library is hosting events and activities for community members. The week is recognized from April 6 through April 12. According to the library system, folks can visit any Richmond Public Library location during the week and draw a picture of their dream library -- a place that has the look and features of an ideal library -- and hand it to a staff member. Drawings will be hung up in a colorful display. In addition to the drawing activity, the library system will host multiple Ripple storytimes where children can read, dance and take photos with Richmond Public Library's mascot, Ripple the river otter. Each child who attends will get a Ripple stuffed animal to take home while supplies last.
