“The online reporting systems provide our community with greater access to on-demand crime reporting and an additional way for residents to report interactions with department employees – whether positive or negative,” said Oklahoma City Police Chief Ron Bacy.
Officials say the Online Police Report System is a way to file reports without needing immediate officer response. For example, filing reports for embezzlement, harassment, lost property, theft from a vehicle, forgeries, fraud, vandalism and other crimes.
After a report is filed using the online system, the user will get an email with a tracking number. An additional email with be sent if the report needs more information, is rejected or approved. A report may be rejected if the crime happened outside of Oklahoma City limits, reported anonymously or doesn't fit the criteria for online reporting.
After filing an online report, users can contact the Oklahoma City Police Records Unit at 405-297-1112 for a follow-up.
If you are unable to file a report in English, you should use the existing reporting method of calling 911 to ask for an officer.
“This empowers residents with the ability to self-report incidents at their convenience, through their preferred method and track the report through the system with email updates.” Chief Bacy added.

OKCPD has also launched an online system to submit compliments or complaints regarding employees.
According to OKCPD, the form can be submitted anonymously. There is also a separate link to upload videos, photos and audio.
The downloadable form is available in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Physical forms are also available at any police station.
“Feedback on interactions with OKCPD employees is crucial in our efforts to continuously improve our communication and service to our community,” Chief Bacy said. “We want to hear when our employees are doing great work serving the community, and we also want to know when an interaction with an employee did not meet the expectations, so that it can be reviewed through the proper channel.”
