Wing Guru owner responds to tax fraud, theft allegations

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Billy Richmond Jr., the founder and owner of Wing Guru, has issued a statement after being indicted last month on tax fraud and theft charges.
Richmond says he voluntarily surrendered to authorities and that he did not intentionally or willfully misreport or falsify any financ
ial documents.

"While I am unable to fully comment on the specifics of the indictment due to the details being sealed and pending full disclosure, I want to make it clear that I voluntarily surrendered to authorities in order to fully cooperate with the legal process and to ensure due process is followed," Richmond said.
This comes after Richmond was charged with theft greater than $250,000 and two counts of sales tax fraud. He is accused in the indictment of trying to evade state sales taxes between 2018 and 2022.
According to records, he was jailed on a $50,000 bond.
"I am confident that this matter will be resolved in due course. I would also like to emphasize that Wing Guru Inc. has employed professionals to manage our financial reporting and sales accounts," Richmond said.
He says he will continue to rebuild and strengthen both the Wing Guru brand and the trust we have earned with our valued customers.
"I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my family, staff, and friends for their unwavering support and prayers during this challenging time.
