WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — Purdue wasted no time after its season ended.
The Boilermakers landed Oscar Cluff, a 6’11 center from South Dakota State, from the transfer portal on Monday night.

KER!” Cluff wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Cluff averaged 17.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game at South Dakota State in the 2024-25 season. He shot 63.4% from the field (8th highest in the country).
Cluff was one of the best rebounders in the country. His 12.3 rebounds per game was the second highest mark in the country. His defensive rebounding percentage was 32.4%, the best in the nation. His offensive rebounding percentage was 17.2%, the fifth best mark in the nation.
He was First Team All-Summit League and was on the All-Defensive Team as well.
On3 and 247Sports both have Cluff in the top 25 of their transfer portal player rankings.
Cluff was a senior in the 2024-25 season. He played two seasons at Cochise College in Arizona (junior college) and one season at Washington State.
Purdue head coach Matt Painter posted to X after Cluff committed, writing, “Boiler Up!”
Purdue is losing its starting center from last season, Caleb Furst, as he graduated and plans to go to medical school. One of Purdue’s backup centers, Will Berg, has entered the transfer portal.
The Boilermakers made their third Sweet 16 in the last four years in 2024-25. Their season ended on Friday, losing to No. 1 seed Houston.
