(Updated) A 29-year-old pedestrian named Juan Kortright died Monday from injuries he suffered after getting struck by a car on Foxon Boulevard on March 26.The city’s police department posted news of Kortright’s death on the social media site X on Monday afternoon.The New Haven Police Depart
ment (NHPD) first announced on X last Thursday that a pedestrian had suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car on the 400 block of Foxon Boulevard at around 10:29 p.m. last Wednesday.Upon arrival, officers located the pedestrian, who was being treated by Fire Department personnel, and spoke with the driver, who remained at the scene. The pedestrian — later identified as Kortright, of New Haven — was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries.An initial police investigation showed that the car hit the pedestrian while the victim was crossing the street, though not at a crosswalk, according to last Thursday’s post.
