Forsyth County man wins $1.13M lottery prize with $20 Fast Play ticket

RALEIGH, N.C. (WGHP) — A Pfafftown man took nearly $1 million home after trying his luck on a $20 Fast Play ticket, according to the North Carolina Education Lottery.
Stephen Smith purchased the winning Max Win ticket on March 2 from the Quality Mart on Yadkinville Road in Pfafftown. At the tim
e of his purchase, the jackpot stood at $936,065.
Since Smith purchased a $20 ticket, he received 100% of the progressive jackpot plus $200,000.
Smith arrived at lottery headquarters on Monday to collect his prize, and after required state and federal tax withholdings, he took home $815,132.
