‘Red Bucket Day’ aims to raise awareness about human trafficking in Kern on Friday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Kern County residents can contribute to raise awareness about efforts to stop human trafficking in the community on Friday.
“Project Rescue” will host the 11th annual “Red Bucket Day” from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 4, according to a news release.

“Project Rescue,” a campaign put together in collaboration between CityServe and Canyon Hills Assembly of God Church, partnered with local businesses and volunteers to receive donations, CityServe said.
The donations will go to Kern Coalition Against Human Trafficking and Redeem Home to prevent trafficking and support victims, according to the release.
Volunteer groups will be stationed at the following locations:
Hodel’s Restaurant: At the intersection of Knudsen and Olive drives
Sully’s Chevron: On Coffee Drive at the intersection of Stockdale Highway and Gosford Road, across from Trader Joe’s
Compassion Corner: Across from KGET at 22nd and M streets

Breakfast burritos will be sold at Compassion Corner on Friday, according to CityServe.
