BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A driver died after his car sideswiped a trailer being pulled by a pickup on Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP said it received calls of a vehicle collision at around 7:29 p.m. on March 29 on Highway 65, south of Famoso Road.

According to CHP, the driver of a Toyota 4Runner was traveling northbound on Highway 65 approaching Famoso Road at an unknown speed. The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup was traveling southbound on Highway 65 south of Famoso Road at the same time, pulling a trailer containing a Chevrolet Silverado pickup.
The driver of the Toyota then drifted into the southbound lane, sideswiping the loaded trailer, CHP said.
The driver of the Toyota was ejected from the car and died at the scene, according to CHP.

The two passengers in the Toyota suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken to Kern Medical, according to CHP. The occupants in the Chevrolet were not injured.
CHP said it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
Highway 65 was closed and traffic was rerouted for three hours, according to CHP. ...read more read less
