Incident involving 'barricaded subject' shuts down WaterlooGeneva Rd.

WATERLOO, N.Y. (WROC) — Authorities have shut down Waterloo-Geneva Road due to an incident involving a "barricaded subject."
The Seneca County Sheriff's Office made the announcement Tuesday morning, initially calling it a "serious incident. New York State Police shared more details about it lat
er, but they did not give further information.
New York State Police announced they have also shut down Rt. 5 & 20 between Reed Road and Packwood Road.
Multiple patrol cars have blocked off the area of Waterloo/Geneva Road this morning due to a "serious incident." Multiple ambulances are on scene as well (News 8 WROC/Eric Schedlbauer)
The Waterloo Central School District said they are on a two-hour delay due to a shelter-in-place. According to the announcement on their website, the district said this is a "serious incident occurring that could impact the safety of staff and students."
There is no confirmation as to what the incident is, but drivers are urged to use alternate routes this morning.
