ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) -- The Mazur family earned yet another accolade to add to their success after forming The Emilee Connection. News 8 featured Linda Mazur in early March as a Remarkable Woman in Rochester for her unwavering commitment to supporting others like her late daughter Emilee, who died after a long battle with anorexia and declining mental health. "I wish it was Emily here sharing it, but it was her wish. I don’t think we would have been able to do it if it wasn’t her wish, so it feels cathartic for us and just to know you can be a catalyst in somebody else’s healing is a wonderful feeling," Linda shares with News 8's Mikhaela Singleton. Linda and Jack Mazur just got a lovely surprise in the mail—a proclamation from Monroe County Executive Adam Bello recognizing The Emilee Connection and the group’s impact on raising awareness for eating disorders. "People care, and we have to educate communities too, so they know how to appropriately respond and be good listeners," Linda says.
