Legionella found in water supply at Rady Children's Hospital

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A low level of Legionella was detected in one of the inpatient units at Rady Children's Hospital.
On Sunday, Rady's released a statement saying that "as a precautionary measure, the hospital is taking steps to sanitize the water system to remove any infection risk."

egionella is a common bacteria found in water that can cause two lung diseases: Legionnaires' Disease, a type of serious pneumonia, as well as Pontiac Fever, a mild respiratory disease.
