NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – The wolf spotted north of I-40 in New Mexico on Friday was found dead. State officials found Ella, the wandering Mexican gray wolf's body on Monday. There are 162 Mexican gray wolves known to be living in the wild in New Mexico.
