ESSEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Monday night's severe thunderstorms have taken down multiple trees in Essex County. Severe thunderstorms hit the Central Virginia area on the evening of Monday, March 31. At 9:20 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service (NWS) stated that multiple trees were down at the intersection of Hunters Hill Road and Tidewater Trail. This report was made based on 911 calls. IN CAROLINE: Heavy winds take down multiple trees in Caroline County Northwestern Essex County was under a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:15 p.m. Monday.
