EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Singer Sheryl Crow recently made headlines for selling her 2018 black Tesla in protest of Elon Musk and his work in the Trump administration.
Well, the car was delivered to Wolfe’s Auto Auction in Evansville and is ready for a new owner.
“It was kind of poli
tically known that she donated it and someone and so forth and whenever you stand, it’s not really a matter of that,” owner Tony Wolfe said to local media. “It’s an enthusiast situation of ‘Hey I may want to own a piece of history of rare piece of the car of whatever’ and what not. So, it’s really about just having fun and you know seeing what the car may bring.”
Crow went viral online after selling it and donating the proceeds to National Public Radio. The car now sits in Evansville with the mileage of around 70,000 miles.
“I think they’re amazing cars,” Wolfe said. “The technology that is behind these things is amazing. They can self drive. They do all kinds of features, camera features. It’s top of the line on technology.”
Anyone can register for the auction, which will be April 11-12.
Crow wrote on her Instagram, “There comes a time when you have to decide who you are willing to align with. So long Tesla.
“Money donated to @npr, which is under threat by President Musk, in hopes that the truth will continue to find its way to those willing to know the truth.”
