Whether people celebrate the holiday or just want to dress up in their favorite springtime attire, an assortment of food and festivities are being offered throughout San Diego County in April. Easter appetizers include lamb lollipops and fritto misto (fried calamari, shrimp and spicy marinara sauce). Main course options include salmone frascati (salmon filet over a cacio e pepe risotto) and Pollo Romana (chicken served in a caper butter lemon sauce). The Marine Room in La Jolla is offering that plus a menu of selected appetizers, entrées and desserts on Sunday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations are $150 per person and $70 for children under 12, not including tax and gratuity. On Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m. to noon, the Easter Eggstravaganza on the Ocean View and Garden decks will feature egg hunts for children of all ages. There will be an infant egg hunt from 9 to 9:30 a.m. followed by a second event for toddlers and young children from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Baskets and eggs will be provided. The event is $225 for adults and $95 for kids ages 3-11. Young children under the age of 3 are free of admission. Rancho Valencia Resort is located at 5921 Valencia Circle in Rancho Santa Fe. There will also be an egg hunt for kids 4 and under at 10:30 a.m. followed an egg hunt for children ages 5 to 12 at 11 a.m. Easter brunch is $90 per person, which includes a glass of sparkling wine for guests 21 and over.
