RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 63-year-old Richmond man is dead and a 56-year-old Henrico County man has been charged with his murder after a Friday evening shooting in the city's East End. At 6:11 p.m. on Friday, March 28, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 1500 block of Co alter Street for a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they found 63-year-old Darnell Christian, of Richmond, down on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. According to police, video footage from near the scene was used to identify a potential suspect, suspect vehicle and vehicle tag information, as well as the direction the vehicle was headed. 29-year-old Henrico man identified as victim of deadly Richmond shooting Officers with the Henrico County Police Division and state troopers with Virginia State Police then performed a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle. They took the driver and sole occupant -- 56-year-old Tommy Moore, of Henrico County -- into custody. Moore has been charged with Christian's murder, as well as the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. This shooting remains under investigation.
