MECKLENBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A stretch of a Mecklenburg County roadway will be closed for about a month for bridge repairs. Starting on Monday, April 7, Country Club Drive between Draper Road and Old Cox Road will be closed to allow crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) t o carry out bridge repairs. This project is expected to be completed by early May, according to VDOT. During that time, drivers can use the following detours to avoid the work area: Southbound traffic: Move north on Country Club Drive, then turn right onto Draper Road. Then turn right onto Highway 47, then right onto Old Cox Road. Finally, turn right onto Country Club Drive. Northbound traffic: Move south on Country Club Drive, then turn left onto Old Cox Road. Then turn left onto Highway 47, then turn left onto Draper Road. Finally, turn right onto Country Club Drive.
