ICE officers arrest Ecuadoran man illegally living in the country facing child sex crime charges

BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations said deportation officers arrested an Ecuadoran man illegally living in the country facing child sex crime charges.
31-year-old Jose Oswaldo Castro was arrested by ICE officers in Brockton on Feb. 25.
On Apri
l 20, 2023, Castro was indicted in Plymouth Country Superior Court for aggravated rape of a child, ten-year age difference, and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, according to ERO Boston.
“Jose Oswaldo Castro-Castro illegally crossed our borders and appallingly victimized a child in Massachusetts,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia Hyde said. “Castro has done unspeakable damage to our community that we cannot tolerate. Arrests like this only fortify our commitment to our mission of prioritizing the safety of our public by arresting and removing criminal alien offenders from our New England neighborhoods.”
