Marion man arrested on OWI charges after allegedly driving on wrong side of roadway during pursuit

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. -- Deputies have arrested a man accused of fleeing from police and driving while intoxicated in Marion on Sunday.
Deputies with the Grant County Sheriff's Office were called to the 1800 block of North Michael Drive on March 30 after receiving reports that an "unwanted guest" w
as loitering around a residence in the area.
GCSO said deputies arrived on the scene and observed a vehicle sitting in the driveway that appeared to match the description provided by dispatch. The driver, who police identified as 38-year-old Dwight Fullilove, appeared to be intoxicated and refused to listen to deputies, GCSO said.
Fullilove nearly struck two patrol vehicles while allegedly attempting to flee the area, GCSO said. He reportedly continued driving recklessly as he turned eastbound on Michael Drive before heading southbound on River Road.
During the pursuit, Fullilove allegedly drove on the wrong side of the road, according to GCSO. Deputies managed to bring Fullilove's vehicle to a halt after successfully deploying stop sticks. The suspect allegedly exited the vehicle and continued fleeing on foot.
Law enforcement managed to find Fullilove near a residence on Overlook Drive and bring him into custody.
While searching Fullilove's vehicle, deputies reportedly located an open container of alcohol and suspected marijuana.
Fullilove was arrested and transported to the Grant County Jail, where he faces the following preliminary charges:
Operating While Intoxicated
Resisting Law Enforcement
Criminal Recklessness with a Vehicle
Reckless Driving
Driving on a Suspended License
Possession of Marijuana
Providing False Information to Law Enforcement
