3 people convicted of murder in 2022 Donaldsonville shooting

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- Three Ascension Parish residents were found guilty in connection to a 2022 Donaldsonville shooting that left a man dead.
Donovan Starks, 24, of Gonzales, Jatyrin Powe, 20, and Johntez Ezeff, 24, both of Donaldsonville, were found guilty of second-degree murd
er, aggravated assault with a firearm and aggravated criminal damage to property.
Deputies responded to a Donaldsonville home on May 30, where Cedric Mumphrey, 37, was found shot multiple times in his driveway. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators learned that a woman and three children were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
The suspects were seen on surveillance footage obtained by detectives wearing dark clothing and masks before firing shots at Mumphrey. Starks, Powe and Ezeff were identified as the suspected shooters. All were booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
Sentencing for Starks, Powe and Ezeff is scheduled for May 12.
