WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Police in D.C. said a man was taken to the hospital after he was shot near Howard University's campus on Monday afternoon. Details about what led up to the shooting remain limited; however, police said that around 1:10 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Gres ham Place NW for a shooting. This is near Howard University's Burr Gymnasium and Greene Stadium. Upon arrival, police found a man who had been shot in his lower body. Court docs: Man confesses to stabbing, strangling, killing 87-year-old grandmother in Potomac Police told DC News Now that he was "conscious and breathing" and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
