Man shot near Howard University campus; DC police investigating

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Police in D.C. said a man was taken to the hospital after he was shot near Howard University's campus on Monday afternoon.
Details about what led up to the shooting remain limited; however, police said that around 1:10 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Gres
ham Place NW for a shooting. This is near Howard University's Burr Gymnasium and Greene Stadium.
Upon arrival, police found a man who had been shot in his lower body.

Police told DC News Now that he was "conscious and breathing" and was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown as of Monday afternoon.
The shooting remains under investigation.
