DC firefighters rescue two people from fire in Southeast

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Officials said no one was hurt after a fire broke out at a building in D.C. on Monday afternoon.
In a post on X just after noon, the DC Fire and EMS Department said crews were called to a box alarm in the 3500 block of Ames St. SE.

There, first responders found flames coming from the attic of the building.
Officials said firefighters helped two people from the building, and they were not hurt.
An additional truck and air unit were requested to help battle the fire.
