VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man on probation was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly pulling a gun on a person over a phone, the Visalia Police Department announced.
Police say just after 10 a.m. they responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 2800 block of west Caldwell Avenue.
Investigators report 35-year-old Juan Placencia had allegedly taken a victim's cell phone forcibly before aiming a handgun he pulled from his backpack. The victim was unharmed.
Officers say they quickly surrounded Placencia's residence and took him into custody once he emerged. Investigators searched his home and found multiple boxes and bags of ammunition along with firearm magazines.
Police say Placencia, who was on probation, was arrested on suspicion of charges related to robbery, possession of ammunition by a felon, and a felony warrant. ...read more read less
