WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- A court document gives more details about why police arrested a woman after the death of a 7-year-old Wichita boy two weeks ago. It tells the story of adults sitting in a car, drinking tequila while children play inside an apartment.
Tasha Dillard, 25, is charged with firs
t-degree murder in the death of Davion Gunter Jr. He was shot and killed just after midnight on March 16 in the 3700 block of E. Ross Parkway.
According to the probable cause affidavit, someone called 911 and said a 4-year-old was playing with a gun and a 7-year-old was shot. EMS rushed the boy to the hospital, but he died within the hour.

Police say that Dillard told them she invited a few women over for a small party, and they went to the parking lot to continue drinking while the children, ages 1-9, stayed in the apartment.
After a short time, children came running out of the apartment and said someone was shot.
Detectives interviewed the children separately. According to the affidavit, the children said the gun had been in Dillard's purse, that a child started playing with it, and then fired it.
Police say that Dillard told them she did not own a gun. She allegedly told police that some male friends had been over in the afternoon and one of them had a gun; she posed with it in a picture; and the men took the gun away before it got dark.
When police told her what the children said, she said they must be mistaken because she did not have a gun and there would not be a gun in her purse. Detectives say she later admitted there would probably be firearm accessories in the kitchen cabinet. She said they were left over from when her sons' father lived with her.
In addition to the murder charge, Dillard is also charged with six counts of aggravated child endangerment.
As of Monday morning, Dillard remains in jail with bond set at $500,000. ...read more read less
