NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — There's a new way to get to the South Coast Rail stations in New Bedford and Fall River.
On Monday, the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) launched the MicroConnector, an on-demand transportation service.

service
"When you’re ready to go, book a ride in our easy to use app and we’ll pick you up and bring you either to or from station," the SRTA's website said.
You may be assigned a virtual bus stop as the service operates corner-to-corner not door-to-door.
The MicroConnector vehicles will be branded with the service's logo and colors.
If you use mobility aids or need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, you can inform the SRTA in the accessibility section in the app.
If you don't have a smartphone but would like to book a ride, you can call (774) 220-6961.
The SRTA recommends booking your ride at least 20 minutes before you're ready to leave. There is no pre-booking.
The MicroConnector is available in certain areas of the cities pictured below from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. for the morning trains and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the evening trains.

Basic Fare for the service is $1 per rider or $0.50 per rider over the age of 65. For additional riders, the fare is the same. Children 6 years old and under can ride for free. Children under the age of 12 can ride for $0.50.
There are also weekly passes and monthly passes available that provide an unlimited amount of rides. The weekly pass costs $7.00 and the monthly pass costs $20.00.
Riders can pay with exact cash, credit card or debit card.
