President Trump’s tariffs expected to go into effect this week

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) -- This week, President Donald Trump’s tariffs are expected to go into effect, including the new 25% tax on imported vehicles and auto parts.

ump said.
West Virginia Republican Senator Shelley Moore Capito says it’s about protecting the American auto industry.
"This tariff, I think, will raise the price of certain cars, the imported cars, no doubt,” Capito said.
But Democrats, like Louisiana Congressman Troy Carter, warned the president's trade policies could backfire.
"We have to be selective and very diligent and deliberate how we use tariffs. I'm afraid the way the president's using it will hurt and not help," Carter said.
Those new auto tariffs are expected to go into effect on April 3.
Not only is President Trump making headlines on his trade policy, but he also claims "there are methods" for him to seek a third term.
Over the weekend, the president suggested he could run for a third term, despite the Constitution limiting presidents to two terms.
