LIVONIA - A deputy who was helping to direct traffic around the scene of a large-scale oil tank fire on Monday was reportedly hit by a car. The deputy was helping direct traffic and allow a fire official's pickup truck to pass when another car struck the pickup truck, injuring the deputy i n the process.WBRZ had a reporter on the scene of the fire when the crash happened on U.S. 190 at Reliable Lane. The extent of the Pointe Coupee Parish deputy's injuries were not immediately clear, and it was not known if the person who allegedly caused the crash would be arrested. The deputy was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
