Gonzales man charged in hitandrun that injured 1 in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — An investigation into a hit-and-run involving two vehicles in the 14000 block of Coursey Boulevard led to the arrest of an Ascension Parish man.
Seth Guitreau, 21, of Gonzales was charged with hit-and-run, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession\d
istribution manufacturing Schedule I, possession Schedule I and possession of Schedule IV.
While responding to the scene, East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office deputies found the suspect vehicle in the 6000 block of Jones Creek Road. The sheriff's office said the car had major damage to the front.
The responding deputy learned that two people had gotten out of the vehicle and jumped a fence at an apartment complex. Two men were found in a drainage canal during a search of the area.
A pill bottle with fentanyl in it was found near Guitreau. Arrest documents stated that a search uncovered more fentanyl pills, a small bag of cocaine and alprazolam fragments. Deputies said Guitreau showed signs of impairment during a field sobriety test.
According to an affidavit, Guitreau admitted to and apologized for the hit-and-run. The second person was identified as a passenger in the car and was released.
Guitreau was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was later arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Friday, March 28.
Another person was taken to a hospital after suffering injuries in this crash. Their vehicle suffered severe damage in this crash, EBRSO said.
