Assailants gunned down a 15-year-old boy who ran for cover from gunfire by getting behind a parked car Friday evening in Little Village on the West Side. Jerry F. e approached and occupants inside opened fire, Chicago police said. Aquino then ran for cover behind a parked car when two masked gunmen exited the Jeep and shot Aquino while he was on the ground, according to police reports obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times. Aquino, of Little Village, was shot in the back, chest and left foot and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:13 p.m., the police report stated. A witness told officers he heard five to six shots, according to police. Five shell casings were found at the scene. The witness, who told the Sun-Times he was a close family friend of Aquino, declined to comment Monday morning.
