SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Traffic slowed along northbound Interstate 5 early Monday morning following a fatal crash on the freeway. The crash was first reported around 4:21 a.m. just south of Las Pulgas Road near Camp Pendleton, according to California Highway Patrol logs. Details about what led to the crash are unknown at this time, but CHP says at least one person is dead. Lanes were temporarily closed through the area when crews first responded to the scene.
