Timberwolves Pistons brawl spills over into the crowd, 7 players coaches ejected
Mar 31, 2025
The Pistons involved in a players brawl that escalates into the crowd, sound familiar? Detroit and Minnesota had an all out brawl yesterday afternoon that had shades of the Malice at the Palace from years ago. This time around, the Pistons didn’t single any fans out a few rows back, but courtside
fans got up close and personal with the players on the floor. Early in the second quarter, Naz Reid was fouled on a trip down the lane by Ronald Holland II. Reid was not pleased with the heavy contact and let Holland know about it before Donte DiVincenzo stepped between the two. When DiVincenzo stepped in, the fight ensued as he and Holland began hand fighting before it poured into the crowd over the camera operators situated along the baseline. You can view the brawl here
Detroit lost head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, center Isaiah Stewart, forward Ron Holland II and guard Marcus Sasser. Minnesota forward Naz Reid and guard Donte DiVincenzo also were tossed, along with assistant coach Pablo Prigioni.
“Obviously things went too far,” Bickerstaff said. “But what you see is guys looking out for one another, guys trying to protect one another, guys trying to have each other’s backs. … Those are non-negotiables in our locker room.”
The skirmish must have lit a fire under the Timberwolves, as they were able to overcome a 16-point deficit to rout Detroit 123-104. There has yet to be any suspensions or fines handed out to the 5 players and 2 coaches who were ejected. ...read more read less
