WPS crews working nonstop to restore power to Wisconsin customers
Mar 31, 2025
(WFRV) - Officials with the Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) say they are working around the clock to restore power to customers throughout Wisconsin following the weekend's ice storm.
According to a release, WPS crews have already restored power to 62,000 customers, however, they are finding signi
ficant damage throughout the affected area, especially in the Northwoods.

Officials add that the ice storm over the weekend has led to ice-covered trees and limbs taking down and impacting or damaging equipment.
As a safety precaution, customers should stay at least 25 feet away from any downed wires and report the downed wire to either WPS or a local law enforcement agency.
As of 7:45 a.m. on Monday, nearly 70,000 people were reported to be without power based on the WPS and We Energies outage maps.
WPS has an "army of field crews" that is said to be working around the clock to restore power but slick roads and gusty winds are impacting travel time and the crew's restoration efforts.

WPS officials say they are working non-stop and, as of now, they estimate that "80% of customers who lost power during the ice storm will have it restored by the end of Monday."
