MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md (DC News Now) -- Officials said the Lotte Plaza Market in Rockville is temporarily closed after a fire broke out early Monday morning. According to Pete Piringer, with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, crews were dispatched to the 1900 block of Veirs Mill Road around 4:30 a.m. after automatic alarms went off in the grocery store. He said that once the units arrived, firefighters encountered smoke and a small fire. Crews battle large house fire in Upper Marlboro Piringer noted that sprinklers were activated throughout the store, and the fire was quickly extinguished. In pictures posted on social media, thick smoke could be seen around the produce area.
