SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) -- The weekend storm system is pushing to the east and moving out of the region this morning.
Heavy wet snow fell over portions of central and southcentral SD. You can see some of the snow reports on the list below.
Precipitation totals were heaviest between
Aberdeen and Sioux Falls. Some of the totals were over an inch in the areas shaded in yellow and orange. Sioux Falls picked up .44".
A winter storm watch is in effect for the far northeast tomorrow and Wednesday. Folks in the far north have the best shot at heavy wet snow with this next storm.
Futurecast shows a blend of sun and clouds today, but a batch of rain mixed with snow should develop after midnight in western SD and spread east tomorrow morning. Very blustery southeast winds will be expected ahead of the band of activity on radar, followed by a lull in the action as shown on the video below. While some snow can fall with this first round, it will be tough to keep temperatures below freezing during the afternoon. More snow will become likely in the northeast tomorrow night into Wednesday morning. Freezing rain is also possible tomorrow night in the far northeast corner of SD.
