COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Strong thunderstorms knocked out power to more than 24,000 AEP customers in three central Ohio counties Sunday night.
As of 11:30 p.m., a total of 3,750 Franklin County customers and 120 Licking County customers, were without power. In total, 24,741 customers across Ohio
were without power, though that number is now just at around 4,550 homes in the area.
AEP said power to one of the hardest hit areas of Franklin County -- on the west/southwest side of the county -- was restored by 2:30 a.m. Monday. The other part of the county with the most outages -- in the New Albany area -- is still waiting for the cause of the outages to be assessed before power can be restored.
