ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Across the nation, there's been a spike in Tesla facilities and vehicles being hit with protests and violence. This, in response to creator Elon Musk's role in the Trump administration. Now, an Albuquerque family is both angry and afraid after their cyber truck was vand
alized.
"I just didn't think it would happen here in New Mexico to my car,” said one owner of a Tesla Cybertruck, who wishes to remain anonymous. A video shows a man keying and kicking a Tesla Cybertruck in Albuquerque on Saturday.
"It made me very angry. It frightened my kids. You know, we just don't feel safe,” said the owner. "I don't believe in doing actions like this and just getting away with it. Most of us have insurance, but I don't want to claim my insurance. You know, I want to make him responsible for it.”

Their Tesla recorded what happened, and after the owners saw the video, they recognized the man as he walked into the restaurant they were at. "So, I went back inside, and I asked him what the purpose was or why he did what he did. And he just denied it. He just denied it over and over again,” said the owner.
When asked why they think the man did what he did, the owner responded, "I have no idea, we don't know who he is. You know, just another Tesla hater.”
Earlier this month, the owner said another man wrote the word "Sad" on the window of their truck with his fingers at a local gas station.

When asked how they are feeling as Tesla owners, their response was, "You know, it's not going to stop me from driving Teslas…If you don't like Tesla, don't get yourself a vehicle, but don't vandalize other people's car like that."
The owners are unsure at this point how much it would cost to repair their cyber truck. ...read more read less
