ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Well, today certainly started off quite different than yesterday. By the time most of us woke up this morning, the ice that had formed on elevated surfaces had melted away. Scattered showers will be likely for the remainder of today. Temperatures will continue to increase
throughout the overnight hours.
While the severe weather threat remains VERY LOW, it's still worth mentioning. The timing of this looks to be tonight and into early tomorrow morning as a cold front moves closer and eventually through the area. Main risks we are looking are wind, lightning and rain. pic.twitter.com/xNVSWHnNoG— Leanne Byer (@LeanneByerwx1) March 30, 2025
We will be very warm to start off the week here in Rochester. However, it will be very short lived. Temperatures will stay in the 60s throughout much of the morning hours with on and off showers. A cold front will sweep through the area during the early afternoon hours tomorrow. Temperatures will drop from the 60s down into the 30s during evening and overnight hours.
April Fools Day will sort of feel like a joke - well, at least temperature wise. Clouds are likely to dominate skies during the morning hours before clearing out during the afternoon. Temperatures will be on the colder side, not getting out of the 30s for highs. If you plan on heading out to Innovative Field for the Red Wings home opener, you may want to bring the winter gear.
Next round of unsettled weather will arrive Wednesday evening and it doesn't let up. First system will move in Wednesday night into Thursday. We get a brief break before the potential of the next round of rain moves in on Friday.
And yes, you guessed it. Another system looks to move in for next week. Maybe there is some truth in the saying 'April showers bring May flowers.' ...read more read less
