POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- On Saturday, March. 29 a brush fire was reported at the 2100 block of Judes Ferry Road in Powhattan County at approximately 1:57 a.m. When Fire Company two arrived at the scene, they called for immediate backup and resources due to the size and complexity of trying t o access the fire. The cause of the five acre fire is still under investigation, however according to Powhatan County Fire and Rescue appears to have been started by a downed powerline. Fire crews were on the scene for approximately four hours, and there are no reported injuries at this time.
