MINOT, ND (KXNET) — On March 27, Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports got a generous donation of $23,800 from Hess Corporation for its 2025 summer programs.
This will make sure that adaptive sports opportunities will be accessible for youth and adults with disabilities in north central North Dakota.
The donation will help to sustain and expand the summer programming, which includes adaptive sport camps, an adaptive fishing day, and adaptive soccer.
"We are incredibly grateful to Hess Corporation for their continued commitment to making adaptive summer sports possible for our region," said Prairie Grit's Executive Director, Krystal Butgereit. "This support allows us to provide life-changing opportunities for our athletes, giving them the chance to stay active, build confidence, and be part of a welcoming community."

Since Prairie Grit began, they have grown to nearly 50 different activities year-round, serving over 400 people.
In the past year, they had 50 new athletes join, which demonstrates the increasing demand for inclusive sports.
"Hess is proud to support Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports and the incredible work they do to provide adaptive sports opportunities in our communities," said Hess Corporation's General Manager, Brent Lohnes. "We are honored to contribute to their work to help ensure everyone has access to recreational activities."
