Homicide investigation underway after 18yearold man dies in Southeast DC shooting

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- D.C. police are investigating after an 18-year-old man was shot and killed in Southeast on Saturday night.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), officers responded to the 3300 block of 10th Place SE for a reported shooting just after 11 p.m.
There,
they found Jose Walters, 18, of Southeast, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Police said he was not conscious or breathing.

Medics responded and took Walters to the hospital; however, despite life-saving efforts from responders, he was pronounced dead there.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. As of Sunday morning, no arrests have been made, according to MPD.
