SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Fire Department was at the location of a vehicle fire on I-291 Sunday morning. Man dies after being struck by train on Fieldston Street in Springfield Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte said that the department received a report of a vehic le fire at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Sunday. Crews were working in the vicinity of Exit 1A on I-291 west to put out the fire. No injuries have been reported. Courtesy of the Springfield Fire Department.
