(NEXSTAR) — It was a bumpy race Saturday in Martinsville, Virginia, with nearly a dozen caution flags coming out across the night.
In the end, Austin Hill took home the victory in the #21 car for Richard Childress Racing.
It was the team's 100th Xfinity Series win, and Hill was excited to b
e the one in the drivers seat.
"It's something that you just dream about as a young kid," Hill said. "To be able to make history like that and to be able to do that in the fashion that we did."
Hill started in the third position in Saturday's race, and only led for one lap — but as they say, the most important lap is the last one.
Hill also won $100,000 as part of the Xfinity Series Dash 4 Cash, a bonus program where drivers compete for money at four qualifying races each season.
The top 4 from Saturday's race in Martinsville will compete in the Dash 4 Cash at Bristol Motor Speedways in mid-April.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series continues on to the Darlington Raceway in South Carolina for the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help a Hero 200 on Saturday, April 5th. ...read more read less
